Microsoft Releases View Another Mailbox for the New EAC

Microsoft has released the View Another Mailbox feature for the new EAC. This is part of the build-out of the new EAC functionality before the retirement of the old EAC. Interestingly, the new feature depends on the old Exchange Control Panel dating back to Exchange 2010. Things aren’t quite as modern and fast as Microsoft says they are.

Exchange Online Mail Flow Rules Move to New EAC

Microsoft is moving the creation and management of mail flow rules to the new EAC from November. The UX in the legacy EAC should disappear in December 2022. The new UX is prettier and works better (apart from the rule wizard), but it’s a little disappointing that we have essentially the same way of managing mail flow rules in 2022 as we had in 2006. You can only hope that things might improve in the future.

New Exchange Online Admin Center Loses Some Magic, But It’s the Future

Microsoft says that the new EAC is ready to use. While we don’t deny the fact, we think some of the magic that existed in previous portals has gone. PowerShell is replaced by the Graph as the foundation for the EAC. Progress happens, but it’s sad when a feature like command logging is left in the mists of the past.

Microsoft Breaks PowerShell Command Logging in Exchange Online Admin Center

The ability to see the PowerShell commands executed by Exchange administrative centers has existed since Exchange 2007. Now something has changed in Exchange Online and the command log is blank. It’s sad because many administrators learned to use PowerShell by examining how Microsoft used it to manage Exchange. Let’s hope that Microsoft fixes this bug soon.
