Teams Meet Now Feature Gets a Makeover for Group Chats

Teams group chats are getting a new Meet Now experience. Is that good news? Well, it’s not an earthshattering change, but it is a nice change because it simplifies the way the Meet Now feature works. It’s the kind of change that software vendors make to tidy up the loose ends in a product.

Teams Meet Now Feature Available in Mobile Clients

The Microsoft Teams Meet Now feature is now available in mobile clients and can be used to start impromptu meetings from a user’s calendar or in a channel. Tenants can control the ability of users to schedule Meet Now meetings with a Teams meeting policy where settings are available to control meetings scheduled from the calendar or a channel.

How to Use Meet Now in the Teams Calendar App

The new Teams Calendar app gets a new feature called Meet Now to create on-demand or ad-hoc meetings that don’t need to be scheduled in anyone’s calendar. There doesn’t seem to be any reason not to allow users to use Meet Now, but if you need to block the feature, you can edit a Teams meeting policy and assign it to the unfortunate users.
