Microsoft is applying their Viva brand to the features currently known as MyAnalytics. Viva Insights will span a monthly email digest, the Outlook insights add-on, and the Insights dashboard. If you don’t want users to access these features, you can disable the features individually or remove the service plan from user licenses. The rebranding is happening now and due to complete in November.
Microsoft is now rolling out MyAnalytics access to Office 365 accounts with an Exchange Online license. The first sign that anyone gets is when they receive one of MyAnalytics’s well-intended messages to help them organize their work life smarter. Funnily enough, some people don’t like the idea of Office 365 analyzing and reporting their work habits, which is why you might need to disable MyAnalytics for some mailboxes.
Microsoft’s announcement that MyAnalytics is available to many more Office 365 users is welcome. The technology interest in the announcement is the spread of coverage to include SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
The Office 365 MyAnalytics application is to add Skype for Business signals (and then Teams) to the set of data it processes to derive insights about the time users spend on different activities.
